Liuyishou Hotpot is now open in Chinatown

A hot pot chain from China that’s already made forays into the United States via New York has now opened a location in Boston. Liuyishou Hotpot is in business at 702 Washington St. in Chinatown, serving Chongqing-style hot pot, a spicy version made with Sichuan peppers.
Liuyishou moved into the former Joy Luck Hot Pot space, expanding its U.S. presence and topping off its more than 1,000 locations worldwide. The chain, which was founded in 2000, also recently opened locations in Seattle and Toronto.
Hot pot options at Liuyishou include beef oil and vegetable oil broths, with a range of ingredient combinations involving vegetables, seafood, beef, and lamb. Traditional thin-sliced cuts of meat are presented on a wooden wheel that surrounds the broth pot.
The chain shared photos of the Chinatown restaurant on Facebook, showing off long white tables and booths and wall murals.
